Windows is ofcourse a user friendly and largely used Operating system.But now computer users are moving to ubuntu in bulk due to a variety of reasons.User's may be of different needs.Some may stick into ubuntu to enjoy the high speed and secure computing features of GNU/LINUX.But if you are a great fan of GTA Vice City,You will have to depend on windows.But if you want to play Gta Vice city and you want to enjoy the ubuntu environment,Here is a couple of ways.

MultiBooting

The process of installing more than two operating systems in a single computer is termed as multibooting.It is also called as DualBooting.It is better to install windows first and then ubuntu.While installing ubuntu after installing windows,you can go for the option Install Ubuntu along Other Operating systems.Now after installing both operating systems,when you reboot your computer you will asked to select any operating system to work with.

If you think installing two Operating systems is not that smart idea,There is some smarter ideas to run Ubuntu softwares in windows and vice versa.

Windows softwares in Ubundu

We are installing EXE files in Windows which won't work in Ubuntu.But there is always a smarter way for smarter people like you.You can go for WINE.Wine is a Windows Emulator program.Even microsoft office can be run by Wine.It is not developed by microsoft.It is a open source free software.Recently I installed the game Hitman Blood Money in my ubuntu system with the help of wine loader.The first and foremost thing you have to do is ofcourse downloading and installing wine in your ubuntu system.You can use synaptic manager or ubuntu software center and search for wine and install it with a single click.Now your exe files will be opened directly on wine on double click or you can go for right click and open with option and select wine.

Ubuntu softwares in windows

GNU/Linux packages used in ubuntu is not compatible with windows systems also.But if you want to use the most popular GCC compiler which is designed for linux and you just don't want to leave windows,don't think that you are in trouble.As i said before there is always a smarter way for smart people.you can go for either Cygwin or MinGW.When installed you will be able to get many of the linux packages in exe format.

It will be cool if you can install an operating system inside another operating system like a software.Don't you think so.It is possible.Believe me.It is not a magic.It is Virtualisation.

Virtualisation

It is a method of creating a virtual machine inside an Os and install another Os in that virtual machine and load one OS from another in a small window.There is options to make it full screen and many more options.First you have to install virtualisation softwares like VMware,KVM in one OS.Now open the virtualisation software and select the option 'create new virtualisation machine' and use installation CD or ISO image of the other OS.Now you can open Virtualisatin software and load second OS as easy as opening a software.

It is also possible to load already installed OS in hard disk in these softwares.
