Vikaspedia is a new webportal developed by Indian government.It aims at social welfare.It is a package containing an wikipedia of India with softwares and tools for writing contents in regional languages.From agriculture,health,education,social development and energy to e-governance are the main contents of this pretty awesome webportal.Informations are available in english,hindi and in other regional languages like marathi,assameese,telugu etc.It is known as indian edition of wikipedia.It contains some online services,learning aids and a mobile application downloading facility.As a facility to develop IT field in India,they have provided different fonts,plugins and other tools to help people write in regional languages.




This webportal developed by Hyderabad based Centre for Development of Advanced Computing(C-DAC) is a India Development Gateway(InDG) initiative.The program is run under the control of Diety.K.Sathyanarayana,Secratary of Electronic and Information technology(Diety) have announced that democracy of Information is the motto of this project.This webportal should be available in all other regional languages for it's growth from this starting stage.They are following the wikipedia model on it's further stages.They are inviting informations and users to manage and collect contents.This is the way wikipedia is also doing.



Providing mobile friendly formats to Vikaspedia will increase it's reach for sure.Since it is in it's early stage,be a part of this initiative and provide quality contents.We wish Vikaspedia all the very best.
